Digital Learning Inventory
This is a list of digital tools for educational purposes. Although by no means exhaustive, this is a good place to start. If you have something you think should be added, please let me know and I'll include it.
Data Bases
- NationMaster, a massive central data source and a handy way to graphically compare nations. NationMaster is a vast compilation of data from such sources as the CIA World Factbook, UN, and OECD. You can generate maps and graphs on all kinds of statistics with ease.
- WolframAlpha, a massive data base and display site: "Wolfram Alpha's long-term goal is to make all systematic knowledge immediately computable and accessible to everyone."
- Edmodo Create a class-sized social network.
- Skype in the Classroom - Skype is a free and easy way for teachers to open up their classroom. Meet new people, talk to experts, share ideas and create amazing learning experiences with teachers from around the world.
- Voice Thread - It's a web-based communications network built specifically for K-12 Students and Educators. Great for collaborative projects.
- CommonCraft Videos This site has 20 videos related to technology issues and tools such as social bookmarking, online photo sharing, and RSS feeds.
- Top 100 Tools for Learning, 2010 A PowerPoint presentation by Jane Hart, Center for Learning and Performance Technologies. It is a little old, but still has great info and is worth a look.
- Classroom 2.0 A social network for those interested in educational technologies.
- Web 2.0 Tools for Math Educators -The name says it all, although some of these are of general interest.
